Congenital anomaly known as imperforated hymen is rare gynecologic entity, but is interesting because of occurence of hematocolpometra which may bring about danger. In the early developmental stage, the sinovaginal bulb of urogenital sinus and the lower part of Mullerian system are participated in forming the primitive vagina. Finally vaginal canalization takes place through the process of central degeneration between the eighteenth and twenty-second week of development. If there¢¥s a failure of this process, a group of central epithelial coils. hr the membrane will persist and thus congenital imperforated.hymen will be produced. In most instances, definite finding is noticed after fnenarche as retention signs of menstrual flow. One case of imperforated hymen with abdominal mass due to hematocolpometra was experienced.
The cure was followed by the crucial incision on the buldging hymen and about 1500c.c of tarry blood was evacuated. We present this case with reviewing the litratures concerning imperforated hymen.
